Services: Family medicine, preventative health, women's health, children's health and immunizations, prenatal and newborn care, pharmacy services, health education after hours care (call 911).

How to be a patient: Gerlach Medical Center accepts new patients. It is appreciated if you call in advance for an appointment. The Medical Center welcomes most private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, Women's Health Connection and Nevada Check-Up. A sliding fee schedule for low-income patients who do not have insurance is available. Identification and income information is needed to enroll in the sliding fee program.

Appointments are strongly recommended; some sites do see walk-ins for emergency needs. Call the medical center to check on walk-in availability.

Prescription Refills: Ask your pharmacist to fax your request for prescription refills to the doctor; this will speed up your refill process.

Additional Information: In 1987 Gerlach Medical Center began providing medical care to residents and visitors of Gerlach and Empire. The annual Burning Man Festival is held near Gerlach and brings upwards of 50,000 people to this rural community. Gerlach Medical Center gears up for this event and provides medical care to the people who create an "overnight city" during the Festival.
