NVHC patients are every one including the working poor and unemployed who are uninsured and receive services on a sliding fee scale. As the cost of health insurance increases, the number of uninsured people is growing.
As the cost of health insurance increases, the number of uninsured people is growing. This includes many members of the work force such as service industry workers, child care providers and people who work for small business owners.
Only 29 percent of NVHC’s Clark County patients have some form of insurance such as Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance. Reimbursement from various insurance plans helps diversify NVHC’s sources of income revenue streams. NVHC’s nonprofit organizational status means “profits” are reinvested into expanding services to meet our mission. As such, providing primary care services to commercially insured people helps make it possible to serve more uninsured patients.
