NVHC is planning to open a primary care health center called Eastern Family Medical and Dental Center in Las Vegas, in an area that has been designated as a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) by the federal government.
Las Vegas is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation and people are having difficultly finding a health care home. It is particularly difficult for the uninsured to find care. Due to rapid growth, growing service demands and an increasingly diverse payor mix in the service area, a modernized medical facility is greatly needed.
NVHC anticipates that at the end of the first year of operation Eastern Family Medical and Dental Center will have a total of 5,715 patients who will have 15,490 visits.
In addition we will be purchasing a new Mammovan. The new Mammovan provide 3,500 low-income women with mammography services each year.
