Services: Family medicine, preventative health, women's health, children's health and immunizations, prenatal and newborn care, pharmacy services, health education, telemedicine (by appointment).

How to be a patient: Austin Medical Center accepts new patients. It is appreciated if you call in advance for an appointment. The Medical Center welcomes most private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, Women's Health Connection and Nevada Check-Up. A sliding fee schedule for low-income patients who do not have insurance is available. Identification and income information is needed to enroll in the sliding fee program.

Appointments are strongly recommended; some sites do see walk-ins for emergency needs. Call the medical center to check on walk-in availability.

Prescription Refills: Ask your pharmacist to fax your request for prescription refills to the doctor; this will speed up your refill process.

Additional Information: The town of Austin was established in the Gold Rush days in 1862. At its height over 10,000 people lived in the community. Today Austin has a population of 350. Austin Medical Center opened in 1992 to serve the people in this very rural community.
