Overview:
Nevada Health Centers, Inc. (NVHC) was founded in 1977 as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and currently has 17 clinical sites throughout Nevada. Nevada Health Centers OB/GYN, located in North Las Vegas (Clark County), opened its doors to serve the community with quality health care in 2004.

Target Population— Low income, uninsured and underinsured

NVHC OB/GYN is staffed with four Physicians. There are five Medical Assistants, four front office staff, and a team of Case Manager/Case Workers and Eligibility workers to help our patients obtain insurance and insure that they are afforded the best of care during their pregnancy and after the birth of their child.

Pre-Pregnancy & Pregnancy Care

Pre-pregnancy care:  Talk to your health care provider if you are thinking about having a baby.  There are things you can do to make sure your baby gets the healthiest start possible!

bullet Take 400 micrograms of Folic Acid every day to prevent some birth defects.
bullet Quit smoking and quit drinking alcohol.
bullet Talk to your health care provider about medications.
bullet Moderate exercise, a reasonable diet and control of any existing medical problems will help you to be healthy so you will have a healthy baby.

Pregnancy Care:  Once you become pregnant it is important to see your health care provider early and often!

bullet Make an appointment with your health care provider as soon as you suspect that you are pregnant.
bullet Keep regular appointments with your health care provider.
bullet Be sure to get laboratory tests, ultrasounds and other tests as recommended by your health care provider.
